So for a while now we have been talking about getting a second dog. As a playmate for So and well we kinda like dogs and have really enjoyed having So.... We talked about maybe getting a puppy....and naming it Yadie... after Yadiar Molina the STL cardinal catcher...but a puppy would be... a lot of work and since we both work all week we thought it might be best to get a dog that is already housebroke and crate trained...etc...in other words a good dog. So we checked Craig's list a found what we thought might be a good match... we brought Shamus home... and while So was out walking with Edgar... Shamus on his way into the house for the first time...slipped out of his collar and ran straight for so and they had the biggest dog fight I had ever seen.... all the neighbors came out to see what the heck was going on... when we finally pulled the dogs apart... both were bleeding! Shamus went back to his home... the family graciously took him back. after a few more searches and the advice of many dog experts...we learned a female dog may be the best pairing.... so last Wednesday...looking through Craig's list a female dog was advertised as housebroke, crate trained and up to date on all shots...and as a bonus the owners lived in the city... just a couple of miles from us in downtown... so I called and we decided to have our dogs meet in the dog park near their loft. As soon as we brought So in the dogs sniffed each others butts and then ran off into the sunset together... playing so nicely!!!
After talking with the owners for a while and feeling this might be a match... Almost as an afterthought I asked the dogs name.... IZZY... for all you cardinal fans out there you will know very well that that is short for Jason Isringhausen the pitcher. Okay sounds like we have our base ball team started!
Turns out Izzy is a very lovable dog and has been a great addition to the family. So and she play well together... Except So is a dog who buries
bones when he gets them... and being part hound dog... Izzy digs them up!!! so that has been fun to watch. below you will see the pictures of our "kids"

I love the name! not quite as good as Yadi, but I'll take it! sounds like fun at your house these days. i won't tell the boys, they'll be jealous.
